In the studio in December, we have a huge LearnDash project which we’re working hard to finish for our Christmas deadline. The site launches in early 2024 when we’ll be able to share more exciting details of the project. Whilst this is taking up a good proportion of our time, we’ve still managed to squeeze in a face-to-face discovery meeting with a local Arts Centre, integrate an AI chatbot for one of our NHS clients and customise the learning experience for two clients with existing LearnDash websites…
Discovery session held with local Arts Centre client to kick off a double website project
We met face to face with our new Arts Centre client to discuss the brief for two websites they’ve commissioned us to build. The first of which is now in the design stage as we mock up how the site will look before beginning the build. ‘Borrow Shop’ (as it will be known) rents out equipment to other arts and community organisations, so the website needs to be able to list items available and take bookings.
We’ve been busy testing various WooCommerce plugins to see which will be the best fit for the client. We’ve decided on using WooBookings for this website which will give them the functionality they need to be able to rent out equipment and manage bookings and inventory online. We will write some enhancements to ensure the plugin meets their requirements.
Big project in the studio, launching in the New Year
The team are currently busy with a large project with a tight deadline of Christmas (this year!). Whilst we’re not able to share too many details at this stage, it will be a LearnDash e-Learning system with lots of bespoke functionality including customised questions and bespoke scoring. We hope to be able to share more once the project launches in 2024.
AI chatbot added to NHS website
After the launch of a new website for the BDCT Talking Therapies service in Bradford, we’ve added additional functionality with an AI chatbot to allow service users to refer themselves for support. This chatbot replaces a long form that users had to fill in and makes the referral process quicker for the user.
Customisations for a client selling LearnDash courses with WooCommerce
We’ve been working with an existing client who sells LearnDash courses using WooCommerce, to improve the user experience after someone has purchased a course. We worked on improving what the user sees when they’re logged in and how they access the courses they have purchased. Some of this involved changing the standard WooCommerce terminology to be more course-focused rather than product-focused.
We also added the ability for the learners to download their invoices. This functionality wasn’t available as standard, so learners would need to email the support team to request an invoice. With the ability to download their own invoices, this will result in a reduction in email requests.
Rebuilding course pages after a website restructure
One of our training provider clients offering CMI qualifications was looking for some design and functionality updates to streamline their offering and the buying process for the user. They were removing a lot of courses from the site and simplifying what they offered after identifying that users tend to know exactly which course they need to take, so having pages and pages of courses was unnecessary and becoming difficult to maintain. As part of scaling down the content on the site, we helped them rebuild the course pages to simplify the design.
We also added the ability to email a quote to the potential learner that they could forward to their training manager to get approval for the course. They can choose the course and the level of qualification they need, then receive an email with the quote and a PDF attachment with the details of the course. A great example of understanding the buying journey and what the customer needs.
Taking on the hosting for a LearnDash site for an existing client
We also transferred the hosting of a LearnDash site for one of our existing clients over to our server. We already host another website for this client, so it made sense to have both sites with us for one point of contact.
As the year draws to a close, we’re reflecting back on what has been a busy year in the studio with lots more exciting and challenging projects in the pipeline for 2024. We’d like to take this opportunity to wish all our clients and contacts a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
